Daar is-ie dan, de langverwachte Top 100 van de Top 2000. Ik begin met meteen te benadrukken dat de lijst een momentopname is; morgen is hij weer heel anders. Om in de Top 100 terecht te komen, waren slechts enkele criteria van toepassing. Een lied moest ten minste in de Top 2000-keuzelijst staan en er gold een maximum van 8 liedjes per artiest of band (in de praktijk betekende dit gewoon een maximum van 8 Beatles-liedjes). Achter de bovenste tien staat een link om het desbetreffende lied op YouTube te beluisteren, de overige 90 moeten ook op YouTube te vinden zijn. Schelden en zeuren mag in de comments.

Zet me in een koelcel, vastgebonden op een stoel, met deze muziek op, en je hebt dé manier om mij te martelen. Wat een hel, deze muziek.
Prachtig lijstje, Marc! Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Paul McCartney, Tom Waits, Jackson Browne, wie wil je nog meer? Hij is wel errug oldie, maar daar is niets mis mee. Alleen Mark Knopfler moet natuurlijk wel een paar honderd plaatsen naar beneden!
Het zwaartepunt blijkt inderdaad in de sixties te liggen. Terecht, meen ik.
En Mark Knopfler (ft. James Taylor) staat terecht zo hoog. Dat nummer vertelt schitterend het verhaal van de naamgevers van de Mason-Dixon-line.
Biko zo laag? Das toch minstens nummer 1 ;). En Phil Collins mag ook hoger natuurlijk :D.
